Treatment process
Imaging
The lesion's borders, size and relation to neighbouring structures are clarified with tomography.
Surgical removal
The cyst sac is removed in its entirety; a bone graft is placed in large cavities.
Root-tip procedure
In apical resection, the last 3mm of the root is cut off and the canal end is filled backward with a biocompatible material.
Pathological examination
The removed tissue is sent for pathology to confirm the diagnosis and plan follow-up.

The vast majority of jaw cysts are benign. Even so, the removed tissue is examined pathologically to confirm the diagnosis.
If the tooth is sound and prosthetically valuable, saving it is always the priority. Resection is a conservative option that can keep the tooth for years.
When the cyst sac is removed completely, recurrence is low. Regular radiological follow-up is recommended for some cyst types.
Small cavities fill with bone on their own. Larger defects are supported with a graft.
